My main bridge is pretty long amsteel with loops on each end sewn in to bridge loops. I made a short bridge out of 1/4” amsteel with loops on each end. Girth hitch one side and carabiner on the other end. I’ll use the short bridge to rappel down, but at height, I run the carabiner through a prussik loop on my main line for my back up. This keeps that prussik in the middle of my short bridge. Should my main bridge or mechanical fail, I should still be centered. I tried hanging from a single lineman’s loop and I’d almost rather fall to the ground! My first secondary bridge was made with canyon elite, but was too bulky……I have a lot of faith in the amsteel too so I made one from that. At some point, I’ll make an adjustable main bridge, probably from resctech and a hitch, but probably always have that secondary bridge at the ready for backup.
