Ok, so now after reading a TON of posts about one sticking I have a few questions. I have a enough Hawks that if I screw one up I will be ok, and I have the rappelling gear so I'm good on the descent. So here are my questions:

1. Will a Harken Cam Cleat work well with 9mm Sterling HTP or do you have to use OpLux?
2. If I have to use OpLux- where can I get like 15 ft? (DanO is sold out online)
3. Does the Artisan Platform on top of a Hawk take the place of a platform?
4. If it does, is it comfortable enough for a leaner (I end up leaning like 70% of the time)?
5. Do ya'll put a piece of paracord on the stick in case you drop it?

Thanks for the input

5. No. I use woven daisy chain and once I put the stick on the tree at ground level I raise the stick from that point on to get slack in the strap and raise it up as I go the rest of the way.

Yes, you can use tip of stick as platform, but a larger one may allow more versatility for weak side shots... everybody is different.

Tonight I one sticked up to 18ft w/o platform... big tree. I used bottom double steps for my feet and my knees (with knee pads) rested against my top double steps, because I prefer to mostly sit.

Yes, I suggest you attach something to the stick and yourself (practice not getting tangled) or have an alternative way down.

I hope this helps... I'm no expert. Practice, practice, practice safely at ground level and low heights first. One sticking introduces slack and I try to minimize that as much as possible.
