Just looking so see if anyone has done this with these sticks before purchasing one w/aider. Thanks guys.

I used the muddy pro all last season. I must have climbed 20+ trees doing the one stick method. Works great, but it does weigh in around 3.5-4lbs. That's why this year I'm going with the Shikar Mini and/or the Shikar 15" with a scout platform to do my one sticking with and then use as a side platform in conjunction with my predator.

They are a great stick for one sticking but a little heavy but then again your only packing one stick so weight wasn’t really a issue for me.
I would recommend you find a older model in the non-recall time frame they are brown in color and the cam cleat held better for me than the newer black ones.

I don't one stick, but have newer model muddy pro sticks. The quality is lacking. Too much play in the steps. Sometimes it even makes an audible click when it shifts and hits the post when I first step on one side.

Sounds like I’ll be lookin for the older model! But that shikar setup newhunter1 sounds like a nice option too!

I have the Shikar Mini with a three step permanent aider from Backwoods that I can use and get 5-6' with each move. I now have the shikar 17" with the scout on the top step. I'm thinking about doing a leap frog with these two steps. The 17" has a 3 step daisy asteel aider that works well, but not as well as the nylon webbing aider.

I’d like to see your leap frog technique!
