One Sticking with Scout Platform

I am in the process of building a OneStick after a year of thinking about it. I ordered a Scout platform during the sale…but I plan to put it on the bottom of my stick, with a EWO doublestep on top.

What are your thoughts on this?
Stick length?
Optimal placement of cam cleat on the stick?
Aider attachment options for the Scout since it doesn’t have any way of girth hitching?

I do plan to run an OCB with squirrel steps. So I know I could use that as well once at height. But I would certainly want it to be stable during the climb as well.
Thanks

Good luck, when I tried the scout on the bottom it didn't work well. The top stand off kept wanting to separate from the tree.

I would reconsider putting it on the bottom. It might be ok with a traditional strap but with a clam cleat i’s very hard to keep the top stand off tight to the tree. I prefer a stick between 15” and 18” with ewo stand offs.

Help me understand what is different about the top vs bottom placement that makes it kick out more when on bottom?
