Howdy friends, just got my brand new play pretty this week and since I'm still waiting for my Flex to come in I had to see what I could do to it.
I saw a post on YouTube from a guy using whoopie slings on his XOP, so it got my wheels turning. The very first climb with the Ridge Runner my son dropped the strap, twice. He hung it, got down and guess what, I dropped it TWICE.....no way that's happening in the woods to me.
So I built this whoopie from 3/16 Amsteel. All you tenured guys probably already know this trick. I added a short piece of tubular webbing to the spliced eye to help keep it from coming off the post on the RR. Works like a champ. You can get this thing amazingly snug on the tree too. You have to pump it like most other stands, but once locked its rock solid.
AMSTEEL is WONDERFUL!!! I'm addicted...….
