What is the difference between ordering the whole system and ordering the saddle only? I'm trying to save some money because things are a little tight financially right now. Anyway, I mentioned this on AT and someone mention that I should buy the saddle only and and order the rope seperately. I can make my own tree strap and lineman's belt myself. I like this idea since I hunt a variety of tree sizes and having the correct size would cut down on unneeded weight.

Saddle only, is the saddle and bridge.
Complete system includes saddle, bridge, linemans belt and tree strap.

Thanks,
Boswell

Thanks, I wasn't sure if I was missing something. They list the strap at $40, and the Lineman's at $40 if you order them seperately. If you order the system it's another $100 so there's a $20 difference. I guess that just goes in their pocket. Look like I can make my own plus extras for way less than $80-$100 they are charging.

I think you are referring to the $20 bag that holds it all.

I agree. No tangible benefit of buying the package.

I'm not really a fan of the bag. The saddle came out of the bag the day I got it and I haven't used it since. I wear the saddle in and out so I don't need it for that. I think the material is scratchy and noisy also.

Agree with RedSquirrel. If you want a dump pouch to hold everything I recommend a USMC 9 magazine dump pouch. Quieter and more functional.

Well, there you have it. Good advice from people who have more experience than you. Exactly why I like to ask questions. Doesn't look like I'll be buying the system. Thanks to all.

It's done. Ordered today from wes spur. Free shipping. Ordered the saddle only and rope to make my own treestrap and linemans belt

Congrats on your purchase!

It's here! Now the experimentation starts. A new phase in my hunting career. Saddle hunting! This is going to open up so many more trees for me to hunt out of. Crooked trees, fat trees, skinny trees and even hunting distant elk wallows in the mountains. Can't wait to try this thing out.

Awesome! Let us know how it goes!

The Aero is definitely on my list of things to buy. I love my Guidos Web but for short, exploratory hunts the Aero would probably be a lot better! You will love this style of hunting. This is my first year hunting this way and I am sold. I can hunt pretty much anywhere it's awesome!
