Been thinking about ordering some amsteel but just had an idea. Could the buckle not be removed and the strap be tied the same way you'd tie amsteel? Just a thought.

The SH Membership has gone live. Only SH Members have access to post in the classifieds. All members can view the classifieds. Starting in 2020 only SH Members will be admitted to the annual hunting contest. Current members will need to follow these steps to upgrade: 1. Click on your username 2. Click on Account upgrades 3. Pretty sure he means wrapped around versa button along with a few half hitches ( just like someone would do with rope/amsteel mod)

Tried it today and it works just fine. The only downside is you will lose some strap length compared to using the buckle. I plan on doing it this way, but keeping my buckles in my pack in case I need to get onto a larger tree.
