Did anyone ever get this to be secure to the tree or its impossible? This is a rough trial.

Move the platform so it is midway between the two standoff brackets - should help.

No, I couldn't get it tight enough for my liking in that configuration and it may be even worse with those tree standoffs as they flex and/or break easily when cammed over too tight.

Different tree stand offs and button location can work wonders if you want to keep the platform near the bottom. Just for my reference, is that a 1" LW stick?

Or do as Dan O suggested but I didn't like mine in the middle configuration.

It a 1" lonewolf post. I have 1.25" but wanted to try and mock it up first. I was just playing around. I really need to make my platform more compact.

Using 1.25" would be better along with shorter standoff brackets. My post is only 9" long - I think that is what @Erniepower used as well, maybe 10".

I always put the seat up higher. And only used one strap. I also used xop stand offs. They are shorter and much stronger.

I have your platform already and it works well. I want to try and make one that is more compact though with out splurging on a predator yet. I even contemplated cutting a lw platform I have laying around.

I've never seen an Ernie platform in person but they look rather small in the pictures. What are the dimensions and/or what are you trying to improve upon? Just curious...
