Over center buckle

Are you leaving the buckle all the way in the open position or leaving it at a 90 degree when pulling the strap tight?
I leave the buckle in the open position while I'm pulling the strap tight. This should allow you to get it as tight as possible and optimize your leverage as you swing the lever part around.

I kep the buckle open all the way while I pull the strap.
I figured out that it is easier if I pull the "loop" that is halfway through the buckle first before I cinch it down farther by pulling the tag end.
Sometimes it is easier to pull the loop in the buckle before you cinch down the tag end. Is the strap that you are using a new strap? I found that it is easier to pull it through the buckle once the strap starts to break in a little.

I hunted with them the first time today.
They were GREAT.
Once seated, they were totally quiet.
Awesome!!!

Defiantly all the way open. If you get it just right its a little tough to close it gets so tight.

Ok guys, just wanted to give an update on how the buckle has been working out now that I have been using it for a month and a half. On trees greater than 12 inches in diameter, it works awesome. I can get the buckle really tight with no play on the first try almost every time. On trees that are smaller than that the biggest limitation seems to be the size of the buckle. I have trouble really tightening up the strap in order for it to tighten down. What I have been doing is pulling the bottom part of the strap through the lever portion and then pulling the tag end. That way enables me to get it as tight as possible. It is still working good on these trees, I just have to put a little more effort into getting it set up and I might have to seat it down on the tree a little more than a bigger tree.
