Pack placement?

My man purse, and quiver are usually around 2:00. Seems to be fine for me, my Great Northern quiver is usually at head level too to help shield my noggin from anything coming straight on.

I often climb split trunk trees in which case I place my bag low on the tree I am not tethered too. If it is a single trunk tree I again go for lower placement and usually try for opposite side I am tethered which generally would be the direction I anticipate the most activity.

This is what works for me

If you are righty, somewhere around 2:00 usually works. You can tweak height and position from there depending on the tree. Having it at 2:00 usually allows me to move around the tree to my left to shoot in front of me and in front to the right, and allows me to spin around to shoot to my 3:00 position.

I don't take mine off. All I have is a fanny pack and it rotates on my hips if I need something, which after I am setup doesn't really happen.

I've been struggling with this also. One thing that I like so far is on windy days I use the waste strap and hook it around the tree too. No more wiggling pack on a hook. Plus it makes less noise if I bump it because it doesn't swing around.

I've actually done this too. I need to lighten my load. I tend to take a lot of crap especially when hopping around. Pole saw and pruners add a lot of weight.
