Petzl pro rig decender for srt any one else use?

It the only actual decender I could find seemed safer smoother to from what I've read

Just for descending? Seems like there are quite a few cheaper options like a belay device with autoblock.

if you want to go cheap just get a descender like this Figure 8 it's under 20 bucks and they have worked fine for a long time!

No I use for acending to it hooked directly to my bridge

I have been using the upgraded 2018 version for a month now. I got it for $115 and could not pass up the deal. I love the security it gives me on the rope. My GriGri+ worked good but it would sometimes slip a little if I unweighted the rope and weighted back. Especially a new rope. Downfall is the increased size. For trimming trees (dual purpose) where I had to take my hands off the rope, the Rig is great. For hunting this fall, I probably will go with the GriGri+ due to half the size. I will use a separate tether at hunting height. They both provide smooth ascend and descend. The Rig does not have the panic feature, so I have to watch that I don’t go down to fast. If you bare hand the rope, the rope burn usually tells me am going too fast.
