I did not BUY A deer license for Iowa yet. I live in Milwaukee Wisconsin its approximately between 6 1/2 hours to 5 hours to get zone 5. I want scout the land ahead of time before I get a deer tag . If were you my situation how many hunting locations do think should scout before I buy a deer tag?
1) should I focus on large hunting parcels like 2000 acres or more.
2) should I focus on small properties less 200 acres or less
3) What type of habitats do think is best.

If you are just starting out now, you will have 3-4-5 years to scout before you can hunt Iowa. That’s how long it is going to take you to draw a tag.
