Which platform would u choose and why..... Seeker..mission. onyx. Or predator xl.... Opinions. Cons. Pros....Thanks.

Edp or onyx, I prefer that size shape. I have a mission on a preset & like it but too big & heavy for packing way in. Just depends on your style & what you like. Didn’t like the points/wings on the predators, was uncomfortable leaning on them

I have had Predator, Mission, EDP, Ridgerunner, and probably a few others. I stopped shopping platforms after I got the LWCG Fix. It’s cut from solid billet, not cast, bites hard and folds nice and flat for packing which was my issue with the Mission and EDP.

Predator XL will pack the best

You can tap dance on a misson platform at height but it’s much harder to pack and weighs in close to 5.5 lbs.

If you’re a leaner seeker is pretty nice with the angle.

Onyx is probably your best “all around” platform with those listed.

It depends on what you’re looking for out of it. Just like when someone asks what pack is best, it depends on what your definition of best is; lightest, carry the most, largest, smallest, etc. Figure out what you want out of a said item and narrow your selection based on that.

Good luck!

All just personal preference. Like asking which truck is best - Chevy, dodge, ford, Toyota. All are essentially the same and function to keep you in the air. Beyond that it’s just dealers choice. Won’t be a clear “winner” or obvious choice. One guys first choice will be another guys last choice.

Stop with the nonsense, we all know Toyota is the best! :tearsofjoy: :tearsofjoy: :tearsofjoy:

I’ve use the predator xl a lot but I prefer the xwing, packs better, lighter and doesn’t move. It’s my preference on a daily basis!

My first platform was the predator xl. I soon bought a secondhand predator to downsize and to pack a little easier. I still have and use the regular predator. It just works, fits inside a small backpack or straps to the outside of a bag pretty easily. I can tell you I plan to sell the XL but wouldn't consider parting ways with the regular predator. Those are the only two platforms I have experience with that you asked about.

Works even better with the EWO platform bracket. Sticks like a glove to the tree.

So far if I had to pick 1. The EDP. I could make do with a predator if I had to, or any other platform in that size. I have a Mission but only use it if I plan to sit all day. That Arsenal looks pretty sweet. But don't think it's that much better than what I got to sell and aquire for the extra money.
An EWO one stick UP is good for a quick early season hunt if your one sticking.. But I could never do an all day with it. Need to stand and stretch some.
I think early on a lot of us thought we needed a bigger platform. But after a while realized the weight penalty wasn't worth it.

I have a predator that I like well enough for early season. I also have a pursuit platform that I love. Doesn’t make my hands cold, it’s lightweight, sticks to the tree like glue.

I have the standard predator and like it. I guess a little more room wouldn’t be a downside but honestly I only want to fit on it and be able to get to angles, long as it bites in and I can get where I need to for a shot I’m good. Personally I’m not trying to dance around up there, less movement is good.

The angled portion of the seeker intrests me a lot as I often find myself leaning in the saddle. Any strong feedback from seeker users on the functionality of the angled couple inches of the platform?

I have the seeker mini and I find that I don't lean on the angle that much ( I sit a majority of the time) but it is a nice change up from leaning with your feet on the platform. I used my mission for one all day sit this year and found myself trying to lean on the edge and while you still can it's not nearly as comfortable as it is on the seeker. It really has me considering selling my mission and picking up a regular seeker

I like my Seeker because that angled part is great for leaning and that is what I like to do the majority of the time. I don't think it is the greatest at biting the tree but have nothing else to compare it to.

I ran the predator xl for 3 seasons and this year I switched to the onyx. I prefer the onyx! It bites the tree insanely well and the thicker cast feels more secure. Now, I didnt mind the XL nor did I have any issues but now using the onyx for this season I am sticking with it.

Only platform I have had...works nice with the angled front for leaning...It's why I went with it.
No issues with it moving, bit into tree well.
I would like to have an option for something on top the post ?

If you want the best bite to the tree, there is no better than Trophyline/Novix. The only platforms that don’t absolutely need a toe hook to set. I’m on my Mission right now and I didn’t toe hook (even though I usually do just for an extra step of security). Check the bite:

Is it dug into the bark? A little. Just by had-pushing on the stomp pad ad taking out slack. I’m in a tree slightly larger than a basketball and doing the Cuban Pete dance up here with side pressure, zero wiggle or noise, zero movement. I could still toe hook it but I don’t need it to be stuck into the tree so deeply I can’t take it off (which happens with this Novix batwing all the time).

I started with a hawk helium and honestly, I loved it and never had any issues other than the slick surface. I put vet tape on it and loved it for 3 seasons!
Just bought a new seeker(smaller one) and I really like it a lot. Plenty big enough, bites great and I lean mostly so the tilted front edge is perfect and I’m on it………the Hawk tilted down with the adjustable screw which works fine too. I do get a “tink” sometimes when I move from one side to the other. I also had to retighten both standoffs, so I sprayed some plastic spray between the standoff/mounting surfaces…….absolutely LOVE IT!
