I started using a tree saddle platform instead of a Ring of Steps 2 years ago and I love this method.

For those who are new to Saddle Hunting or who just does not know A ring of steps, that is most times referred to as (ROS) is a strap that has 2-6 portable steps attached to it.

I would highly recommend anyone first getting into Tree Saddles not to try this method. Use a tree stand or Tree Saddle Platform first.

In a short how this works, when you attach the Ros with either a ratchet strap or an OCB (Over Center Buckle strap) to the tree you would then slide the steps around the tree to a position on the strap that eventually would become set for you. I will List a few Ros Including the ones I still own.

The platform I own I will list on the bottom and please note I bought that platform after trying several others on the market.

Here are a few of my affiliate links to some tree saddle platforms on Amazon

Make sure you check company websites to compare prices and sales

I would recommend going with XOP with just how good the company’s products and prices are.

Shouldn't you set yourself up as a vendor rep before posting Amazon affiliate links?

Don't really matter to me what I am labeled as and, I really don't care.
I post these to help people and for people to have some cheaper options instead of companies Jamming and insisting they need 4-500$saddles and equipment to start saddle hunting. I make mere cents on the dollar when someone buys the item.
I did get permission to post and I disclosed that they are my affiliate links as was asked for me to do in the past.
So maybe throw a pm to one of the moderators or even @redsquirrel which I got permission from earlier today

Might mention monkey bars too(ROS). They are hawks version and I love them! I keep one on each side of my Hawk platform. Only part of that set up changing is the seeker mini that’s one the way! It’ll replace the Hawk platform which I’ve enjoyed thoroughly!

I have used both together since day one. I quickly figured out that you can't shoot 360 degrees around a tree without a ROS. I don't see the need to pose like a ballerina off a platform to shoot. A ROS offers amazing stability for shooting. I killed a doe to my 1 o'clock in this pick, top right. I had to shoot in between the vines and the tree trunk. Couldn't have done it without the ROS.
