Hey everyone. I'm looking for a good step style platform for this upcoming season. I was going to try the ezy steps last year and never got around to them, but i have heard mixed reviews. Does anyone have another good thought for a platform (not one that is an actual platform I am looking for a step style platform). I wish they still made the ameristeps bc i would just buy them. also a side not is I plan on ditching my sticks all together and using a tubular webbing style climbing rope this season instead of the one stick climbing method, so I will definitely need to figure out a platform bc i won't be taking my sticks in this year and the top steps of my sticks is what I used to use as my platform. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Happy Hunting

Ameristeps are the best option in my opinion. Be patient and you'll find some. Watch eBay, craigslist, here and archery talk. They pop up from time to time.

I am not a big fan of strap on steroids AAS they shears seen to give as i put pressure on them.... usually right when a deer is coming in and fit that reason i don't like them..... still use them but not a fan. I much rather use 2-3 Jim Stepps and stagger then as once I set them they don't move again. If you preset them during the spring the tree will grow a bit and really lock them in. I just can't stand a platform that has give in it when I'm positioning for a shot. If you have smooth non rough bark perhaps they work better? But for the rough semi soft bark trees i hunt they just don't hold real well and shift as you shift weight from one step to the next

Not sure what you mean by tubular webbing style climbing rope, but do you just mean a climbing rope?

Anyways, are you allowed to use screw in steps? 4 or 5 cranford ez screw ins are a great platform if you can use them.

Summit bucks test look like a pretty good platform. Anybody use em? Sorry if this has been covered, been awhile since I've logged on. Looking forward to using my saddle more this year, but have you find a better platform idea

What kind of sticks are you getting rid of? I may be interested.

How about a lone wolf hand climber seat as a platform?
I'd be worried about side pressure with using the hand climber seat as a platform.

It was a popular idea several years ago before guys started climbing with one stick. You can probably find the old videos on youtube.
