I have no problem getting stepps at same height.... and i really don't worry if there not ... never had a problem. If I was planning on walking around the tree I'd make them go higher as I moved around the tree anyway

The problem comes in when your trying to set the rope for cam over and there is already 2 ropes around the tree. The third one is difficult for sure. When i use the Stepps, i stand on 2, one per foot. If they are at different heights its like sitting on your wallet for me. It shifts my hips and ill have lwr back problems. You could set others up at higher levels, but with 3 you dont need to walk around the tree unless your bored. LOL
 
This is the best part about a platform. Oddly, I don't find them as comfortable as Ameristeps...I know I'm probably the only one, but the ability to maneuver for a shot is much improved.

Yes this is advantage but i set up with back facing down wind. Most of the easy shots from the platform are behind you unfortunately.
