So I just got my pole gaffs excited to try them out. Does anybody use them for climbing methods. And I heard that pole gaffs shouldn't be used on certain tree is that true or are you good for most trees. Just want to know so I don't killmyself lol

You are good on 90% of the trees out there just do not use them on thick barked trees! I use pole gaffs and have never had a problem!!! As long as the gaffs penetrate all the way to the main part of the tree, not the bark, you should be fine!

I am assuming your talking about oaks stuff like that. But man I can't wait to try them. These are going to be a game changer I am going to be so stealthy with these.

Honestly thought I would like the climbing sticks but I hate carrying them around.

No I climb oaks alot! Really thick bark on some pine trees is the only tree i have found in NC that might cause a problem but I have climbed plenty of pines also just have to use common sense on which ones might be unsafe!!!! As far as sticks I love one sticking as long as the stick has the rope instead of a strap!!

Oh ok I heard that oak are kind of hard to climb because there wood is pretty tough. How long have you been using the climbing spikes for? And have you had more success using them?

I just started using climbing spikes 2 weeks ago and my practice trees were oak trees. The spikes dig in so hard you have really pull your feet up but mine r tree graffs but will be trying out the pole graffs in the near future.
