Poor-man’s stick platform

Well I have extra helium stick steps. I might have to try and add a few rows to have more on top. Im currently using just top of helium.

Thought about using helium's for spacers on my api double step? Keep me updated on this.

Get you a nice piece of hardwood (I was using a hickory sledge hammer handle) and put it behind the step on the stand-off. I bungee mine down to the stand off so it don’t fall in weighted. You do have to be careful moving around but you sure will be more comfortable

Im planning on doubling or tripling up on the top steps with bolts and spaces unless I can find a ring of steps for sale.

Yes sir nice job! I went the cheap route and used a Razor scooter as my top platform but just the part where your foot goes and it works great and isn't that heavy!Screenshot_20201205-192901.pngScreenshot_20201205-192850.png

Just be aware that all of the force of your weight, compounded by the extra leverage of the additional steps will essentially be applied to that main center bolt. If you're a little guy, it probably won't matter, but if you're a bigger guy, it's something to consider.

Any pics of heliums with multiple top steps?

I did it last year. It wasn’t very comfortable. I did one in front and one in back of main step. If you do it flip the bolts opposite of me. I’m not sure why I didn’t looking at the pics now. Grade should be on the main beam and non grade 8 should have been on the end of steps. I did 3 four hour hunts and noticed wear on the step holes of the main bolt when I dissembled them (got my predator platform).

Thanks. I wont use anything but Grade 8 and there will be several more used. Im not worried about comfort since I am now using a JX3 and all foot/knee pressure has been removed compared to a torture diaper. Any recommendations for spacers?

I just went to Lowe’s and bought nylon spacers for the size bolts I have. I can’t remember the size though

Whats the size of grade 8 that you used?

I put this together today with grade 8 but the spacers need to be different sizes so I had to cut them down. Not sure how I feel about this for safety reasons.

It feels solid, I just dont want to damage the original hole on the stick.
