Im on the fence between the pop up 28 and the 18. Mostly whitetail hunt but plan to elk hunt next year. Is the 28 bulky in tree? 18 have enough room?? Any tips are appreciated

the 28 is smaller in capacity than many regular day packs people are toting. when you have your crap out of it in the tree, it cinches down to basically flat. The 18 is essentially a load hauling fanny pack.

I was considering the same 2 packs then I tried on a mule and decided on it. The mule is about the same size as the 28 but you could swap out for the pintler bag if you ever need more space. Plus you get the guide light frame and it's a little bit lighter than the 28. Just something for you to consider.

good idea thanks

The pop up's ability to "pop down" is the big advantage for me for whitetail hunting. If I never left the ground, and always carried a ton of gear, I'd definitely go with any one of dozens of the stationary frame packs available.

Also, you can use any bag with pretty much any frame if you spend a couple bucks and buy a speedy stitcher. Some may require a little more work than others, but it's not rocket science. I love the pop up frame, and now have three different bags that mate up to it with just a couple hours of work.
