Prayers for Patriot

Prayers being sent your way. I definitely believe in the power of prayer. I saw it first hand with my daughter's injury, surgery, and recovery. Keep the Faith and a positive attitude.

May God heal your arm, mind, and body. Help restore your arm to it's former healthy state.

Praying for you! Keep your head up and keep trusting God to heal your injury and promote your determination. 12 years ago i was in a wheel chair and then on a walker for a long time after surgery. I drug my right foot so badly that i was told i’d never work again in my field. A lot of hard work with Gods healing and today I both work in my same field and am able to enjoy time with my family in His great outdoors. Hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel at times but you’ll make it through!

I believe in the power of prayer. I’ve tossed up some prayers as best I could for some of you. Now with a little bit of selfish guilt, I’m humbling asking if you could pray for me. God knows me as Brett - not Patriot :)

three weeks ago I had a basic bicep repair surgery so I could get back in the gym and toss the weights again. When I woke up I couldn’t move my right hand. I’m a righty. My doc admits that they messed up and caused nerve damage. He says it will come back but he has displayed a lot of behaviors and made statements that concern me and my rehab specialist. Bottom line is I don’t trust him bc I appear to have two nerves damaged and he should have been nowhere near the second.

I’m scared. I want to hold my bow again and be a hunter. I want to play basketball with my son, and I want to hit a couple three pointers in a row in my basketball league and look over at my son on my teams bench as our little buddy and team mascot and see the pride and admiration in his eyes as his old man shows him he’s still got it.

If you are comfortable doing so please pray for my recovery, for my heart to remain free of anger and resentment, and most of all for me to use this adversity as an opportunity to emerge from this with a stronger relationship with God.
Brett you will be in our thoughts and prayers for a safe and speedy recovery. Stay strong my friend and know that no matter what happens, the Lord has a plan for you!

Thanks so much for sharing. That is so inspiring.

With you too Brett. My spine specialist told me that nerves only take a slight wrong touch to go to sleep, and up to a year to wake back up fully. i got back to 90% normal function after a year and the other 10% became just a part of life. You are very early in the process and hopefully they come back full strength for you. It is a scary thing to deal with, but keep the faith!

I just asked the Lord to heal your arm.
He will do so if it is His will and if not He will give you grace for your trial.

6 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:5, ESV)

I’m glad you got back what you got, the spine must have been painful and very scary. I’ve heard very similar stories from others as well. It’s been a month and I’m so frustrated and scared by the lack of progress. But a month isn’t that long when it comes to nerves I guess.

I know these are hard times but trust in god and stay strong mentally. I know for myself governing my own thoughts helps keep negative/ damaging thought processes to a minimal.
Prayers for strength to cope and healing sent your way.

Praying for you my friend. I severed a nerve in my thumb and it took a full 6 months to get back to functioning and now I’m back at 100%. Try not to be too angry at your Dr…. It won’t help you feel any better and everyone is wired completely differently. Just because your nerves are not supposed to run where your procedure was doesn’t mean they are in the usual place. People have some crazy different configurations especially in their limbs.
