Pre set Grade 8 bolt question

Those are some big canoes! LOL Those will definitely hold you. However, I want my feet totally captured by the bolt. My fear is that with pac boots and a ice, my foot could slip off.

My foot has slipped off of a bolt before. Actually happened to me at about 20’ this season. Result: no problem other than a temporary rise in heart rate. I had my other foot solidly on a bolt and my LB was secure (3 points of contact). I understand the desire for a longer bolt, but that comes with the increased chance of bending.

It definitely does that! 3 points of contact has saved me before. I took a lot of risks when I was younger. I've fallen twice. Got lucky both times. I'm much safer now. Anyway, look at Utility Pole steps. They won't bend. 5/8 x 10". They have an L on the end. Your not going to slip off. I had a source for used ones but I'm all out. I found them online new for $2.18. I've also used old RR spikes. Not as long as I would like but they work well. I pound them in till I have 4 fingers out of the tree.
