Private Land Saddle Conversion Question

These steps bolt into the tree

Just to be clear, those are not for climbing, they are for ROS.
Treehopper is working on a new version of these...the bolt will be a hybrid of a bolt and a screw-in step and the foot rest is like a bicycle pedal...very wide and comfy on the feet.

Ok, got my JX3 on order, 4 weeks out according to John.
Trying to decide on my minimalist saddle, Cruzr CX, Tetherd, Arerohunter, lots of good choices for sure.

Question, I really like the looks of the squirrel steps, do they make any like that in which you can bolt them to the tree for presets?
I was thinking one less thing to do and also about keeping noise down when getting setup.
Just use bolts. With the JX3, you're rarely standing on the bolts. They are mostly for moving around the tree. Squirrel steps on an OCB are great for temporary sets. Bolts are perfect for JX3 on permanent sets

Thanks for making that clear. I assumed that he was wanting a ring of steps

I figured that you knew the pedals are strictly for ROS but I thought it needed to be clarified for some others that are reading this.
I usually try to word my posts in such a way that newbies will understand. When I started all this saddle stuff and found this forum, it was overwhelming to try to learn and absorb it all. I try to remember what its like for a new guy is going thru when I type posts.

thanks guys, I appreciate the help as a new guy to saddles!
i am still planning on getting a regular saddle to try as well.
If my buddy and I stay with the Jx3 I will probably just do bolts, if we go with a minimalist type saddle I will go with ROS.
I have a feeling though after reading my posts that I may need the ROS anyway and some sticks so I can setup in some non preset trees and have the flexibility to move around which will be awesome...... dont know how many times I have been setting in a fixed stand wishing I could move it over 100 ft based of of new travel movements!

Just my opinion, but when a hunter goes from conventional stands to saddles, I think its a little easier to start out with a platform rather than a ROS. It seems to be less of a radical change.
I'm not saying a ROS can't be a good "starter" rig, but I believe a platform is easier to shoot from and more comfortable.
A Predator is just as mobile, too.
I have several trees that are prepped with bolts to climb. It takes me about 1 minute to set a Predator on those pre-bolted trees.

New question since its related thought I would throw it up on this thread.
Since I am doing private land presets, I also want to have mobility to setup in a non prepped tree.
I have been looking for the best method, sticks or hand climber? I was thinking sticks but I dont think I would need to modify them other than aider and straps.

Sticks are nice
Using XOP sticks now . They lock together soooo nicely and compact
I was using wild edge stepps but too many inconsistencies with them plus they gouge out tree bark pretty bad on the bottom spike

What do u have in ur saddle kit or wishlist so far?

Thanks for the info.
I bought 4 pack of heliums 20", modding them now with gainers and versa straps.
I have a ring of squirrel steps and I have 2 saddles on order, JX3 and Cruzr XC, want to compare both.
HYS accessory strap with S clips and bow hanger.
