Can you access much timber company land or is it mostly leased out? Seeing a lot of that in the area of some public I am looking at.

Pick a week in January, then take gcr0003 up on his offer. You should be able to find some bucks chasing or at least following does.
I also agree with most above, there are no deer in Alabama.

Hey Cooter, I currently hunt private land but have ventured onto Wheeler a few times (saw deer 2 out of 3 times). I really want to bow hunt Skyline and possibly Oakmulgee. I drove up to Skyline post season (after last season), the area I checked looked to be completely clear cut. Is this the case for most of Skyline WMA? Can you find areas with mature timber with clear cuts adjoining? OnX shows most all of it has been clear cut.

I'm not asking for areas to hunt. Just a little info.

I haven't hunted it much but the areas I've hunted were not clear-cut. I dont even know where any clear-cuts are on skyline.
