Quick Morning Hunt

Great, another invasive. Another reason to buy American.
Sorry, I though when you asked you were joking. Yeah Lantern Fly. Absolutely horrible here in Pennsylvania. I guess I assumed they were everywhere, guess not. Big nuisance here.

What part of PA? This is the first I have heard of them also. I live in Garrett County MD but, my property borders PA. They haven't made it down here yet.

Lebanon area. They are all over SE Pennsylvania. I know the Philly area was really bad last yr. They seem a little better this year but still a nuisance

Spotted Lanternflies were first discovered in Berks County in Southeast PA about 5or6 yrs ago, now all over SE PA and spreading. From China. They secrete a disgusting dose of excrement which you can smell as you near their favorite trees. It will completely blacken the bark. This year, they have declined in population as the local birds are figuring out they are safe to eat. Tree of Heaven, an invasive species, is their favorite tree, but they also like Maples, Willows, Apples, Grapes, Virginia Creep and a lot of others.
