Anyone here colorblind, or know someone who is? I have a pair of EnChroma sunglasses i purchased for a friend but of course he is one of the few color blind people that don't benefit from them. Long story short we are well past the return window and I wanted to bring some color into someone else's life. If you know anyone who might get some joy out of these let me know and I will ship them to you. I feel bad wearing them around as a back up pair of sunglasses when they could mean so much more to someone else.

Thanks

I’m not black and white color blind but I’m color blind with shades so basically nothings actually right through my eyes  and yes it makes hunting a bitch some days

I am r/g as well but believe I’m the same as your friend. I would love to see a bright blood trail some day!

If floydfreak ends up with them I’d be curious to know how they ACTUALLY work.

I’d love to see one period lol I don’t even move after a shot unless I watch the deer pile up. I just instantly pull the phone a friend card

Same here! I’ve found out my mother in law is great at tracking… lots of IOUS earned over the years.

The only thing I have noticed that kind of helps is a blood tracking flashlight. They don’t even help that much, just turns the blood jet black, which ends up being easier to see than the normal contrast to me.

The mother in law is still way more effective though.

I owe lots of buddy the same iou!! The only time I can even remotely kinda see it is when the lungs fill up and they start spitting out pools and as we all know by then you can usually look up and see it laying there anyways lol

Im glad to not be the only one that feels so incompetent.

Deffinately not a good feeling. Almost feels illegal that were allowed to hunt lol this year I missed an absolute giant with the smoke pole. But I obviously can’t see blood but I also couldn’t find hair so I got real nervous and didn’t know what to do. I called a buddy and made him make the 3.5 mile trek into the back woods to confirm my miss. I felt like a jackass but I felt even worst knowing I missed a 100 yard broadside wide open shot

I love how this turned into a colour blind support group lol.

Feels nice to know I'm not the only one that knows that sinking feeling when a buddy says "it's right there, can't you see it?"
Never knew there was this many of us around here lol but if you do get those glasses I’d love the feedback! May change the hunting game through and through

Hey guys sorry for the late reply. Glasses came in a few weeks ago and I wanted to give it some time before I wrote out this review so that I had a good understanding of how these work for me.

So the glasses are the Ellis model for red/green colour blind correction. I had it all planned out that I was not going to put them on right away and put them on, close my eyes and look at an apple, but I got to excited when I got out of the post office and just put them on right away for my drive to work.

First, impressions of the actual glasses themselves. I was surprised at how comfortable the actual glasses were to wear. Very light and soft around the ears and nose. The lens are large and cover a big area, protecting the eyes well.

Now for the fun stuff. So I put the glasses on and didn't really notice much. The lenses have a red hue to them and at first make it feel like you are looking through a glass of rose wine. I didn't really notice much of a colour change right away, but it did seem different. After wearing them for about an hour I started to realize how much sharper things were looking. Trees along the side of the road seemed to be standing out from one and other a lot more then usual. Usually a wall of green trees is just that, a semi blur of green. But now I was picking out the different layers of trees in the background much more noticeably. I came to the realization that with these glasses on my vision was actually better. Because things stood out more from the background I was actually able to see them better. Life is much sharper when wearing these glasses then when I am not.

Then about a week later it finally happened. I was driving home down the highway with the sun blinding and glaring when I noticed something I had never seen before. There was a giant Canadian flag blowing in the wind and it caught my attention "wait a minute, that's not what the Canadian flag looks like". I take my glasses off and wow that can't be right. Glasses go on again, ***. All this is happening at highway speeds over the course of a few seconds but my mind was blown, that's what red is supposed to look like??? The vibrancy of the flag is what originally caught my attention, and then the bright orangish/red that I had never seen before really blew my mind. When I would take my glasses off and look at the flag the red I was used to seeing was much more of a brown then the red I was seeing when the glasses were on. If I had to guess I would say the difference was at least 5 shades brighter and vibrant with the glasses. The dark brown version of the flag I was used to seeing, compared to this version was night and day different.

I haven't been able to take the glasses hunting yet as the only thing open right now is turkey and I'm worried that wearing the glasses while out might break my camo. But if I could wear them out I would. I have warn them while golfing and its been a nice change. Nothing special but I do think I am seeing the ball a little better during its flight.

All in all I couldn't be happier with the glasses. As much as they are expensive I can't see myself wearing any other kind of sun glasses ever again. Thanks again to @Coathanger15 for letting me see colour for the first time, clearly I have been missing out.

Great write up! I am very happy they are working out for you. It is a good feeling to know they are doing some good for someone. Enjoy. I heard they make an indoor version that may work better for hunting and low light situations.

Sorry for the delayed response but I was away on vacation with extremely limited cell service. Also tried hard to not use the phone. Had to unplug for a while
