I understand trying to weed out scammers but I think the approach this forum is taking is wrong. I’ve been on here for a year or so and have posted a few times. I wanted to trade some stuff and was told I couldn’t post that yet. I was capable of selling and trading before all this happened. My point is I have nothing to post about almost every topic you could possibly want info on is already on here. I like to sit back and read other threads and then on a rare occasion post my own things. But now I’m restricted because of the actions of others. Does anyone else feel this way?
 
I guess you can take it anyway you want.
I think it will weed them out.
I also think it will help encourage people to become involved with the forum

It’s really not that hard to say congrats, welcome to the forum, or actually share.

But what is truly hard is sitting back and watching your friends and “family” get robbed by scammers.

First, rules are a natural progression that come with growth.
Second, I'm not sure how mad anyone can be for rules set by moderators on a forum that none of us have to pay for.
Third, interacting with others in the forum is quite enjoyable and also helps achieve the goal you are looking to achieve.
Fourth, there are 100 different sites you can sell stuff on if that is your ultimate goal.
Fifth, I've only been an official member for about 5 seconds and have logged more than enough to sell stuff if I wanted to just by chiming in a few times a day on post I either know about or interest me. It isn't difficult.
 
To that i would say it is their forum and their rules. They are offering a classified service ( a very good one) for people to use and they do not have to do that at all. If they feel they need to take some steps to keep it an awesome classified section without dirt bags that rip people off then so be it! Like @ImThere said, just get involved a little here and there and people will know your legit in no time. I was much like you and just lurked around reading everything and soaking stuff up but since i started getting involved it has made the forum that much better for me! Plenty of awesome folks on here willing to help and no drama! Kind of like a team, like team 6, like the winning team, ya know!
 
It’s not that I don’t want to interact but I don’t get on here much and I enjoy reading threads more than posting in them. Not bashing anyone love saddle hunting just don’t agree with the new rules put in place. I am on a bunch of sites but this is the place to deal in saddle gear.

you will spend less energy getting the required post than complaining about them, just saying!

I can understand why you might feel that way. Sometimes the line gets drawn on the wrong or unfortunate side if you know what I mean. Some of the good guys who are on the newer side will be hit by friendly fire at first in order to weed out the bad seeds. I'm relatively new myself. Hang in there.
 
Like several said above, hang in there and just know that no rules were put in place without a lot of thought and consideration.

The good news is that whether you choose to complain about it in this thread or go join a couple couple conversations about things that interest you in other threads, you will be able to post in the classifieds sooner than you think. One option seems more enjoyable then the other but, both will get you there.

Nothing is really ever "free". There is either sweat on your back or blood on your hands, and your going to "pay" one way or another.
 
Red states in the rules if you have been around awhile and can't post, contact him. Since you have been a member a year, now, get in touch with him and see what happens... You might not have an issue.
