Today was 99 deg, the hottest it has ever been in October in North Alabama (since record keeping 1894). Tomorrow supposed to be 99 also, add that with no rain in at least a month, Sept was all mid to upper 90s so it's bad here. Brite side I found an acorn tree loaded and dropping next to creek with water.

Where you hunting at gumby? I too am in North Alabama and found a spot loaded with acorns and water not too far away.

It’s not just Alabama. We it will be 97 here in Georgia today with no measurable rain in a month. Trees are dropping leaves bad which is great for hunters but the woods look like mid November already.

Same in Virginia. 4th driest September in history and supposed to set the high temp record today, calling for upper 90s. Drops off nice after today through our opener on Saturday with it not getting out of the 60s. Should be a good one after the heat we've had.

No big fires around here yet but would be a problem if one got started with the wind blowing.

THe South is getting drilled with this HEAT!!! Heard on the radio this morning we are going to break another record today here in NC

We've had record breaking temps down in mobile as well. Swamp is DRY, which makes it a problem to find pigs. Last season it was FLOODED, highest the water had been in 30 something years.

Can't win for losing.

It wouldn't surprise me if it snows before the year is up, bama weather is crazy.

As you continue through Southern Alabama the ponds are all down considerably. Deer seem to be hanging closer to water sources and I’m seeing no fawns.
