So, I ordered some amsteel, to make daisy chains for my Lwcg compact climbing sticks. Then I got to looking at YouTube ( a dangerous pastime) and saw a bunch of videos on the trucker hitch daisy chain. Seems like it is the way to go but also looks like it takes some fussing to tie. Has anyone used both? Looking for some first hand expirence. Thanks.

I've been using amsteel daisy chains on my sticks for few climbs now. I made USA style rope and daisy chain, used one on each stick and ended up making another daisy. Always truckers hitch, just looping the button will leave your rope way too loose making the attachment unstable.

USA truckers hitched gets even tighter. Continuous loop for the hitch is bit annoying to splice but so are the daisy chains.

If you do daisy chains, measure and mark the crossing points with a sharpie so you get even spacing.

Yep, I use both, the daisy chain trucker on my sticks and the USA trucker on my platforms. Been doing it for 2 seasons now with zero problems. The loop on the USA is easier to feed the line through with gloves on, but the regular daisy isn't that bad either. Gets the sticks and platform very tight to the tree.

Get bigger loops on the amsteel to make it less fussy. Regular daisy chains is too dangerous as an attachment method. I assure you the fuss of tying the truckers hitch is a heck of alot less fussy than a stick kicking out, hoping your lineman's catches you while slamming into the tree and probably your climbing stick.
