Yeah, I have and am using now. When I get home I'll post what I'm using.Has anyone made a tether out of rope sold at REI? If so, what did you use? I am looking for something I can get quickly in the interim that would be replaced soon enough.

If so how it that? I'd like to get the smallest and lightest ropes possibly that can be used safely.

Not there yet with the oplux, but I also like to hook up the rappel line once at height and have it ready to go. I do leave the tether on though, I like the idea of having a backup...I use oplux as my tether, bridge and LM belt. I may replace it again with the ultrateck rope as it is stiffer. However for what I'm using it for It is safe and so much lighter. I also have 52' of oplux as my rappel rope. Once at hunting height, I put my rappel rope on the tree and hook up to my bridge...tighten everything down and take off the short tether.
