As I’m hanging around in the nasty drizzle, during this evening hunt, I had a question come to mind. If I pull the trigger on this smoke pole, what’s my strategy if I have to reload? I guess I set the butt of the gun between my feet on my platform and hope a don’t drop the rod, pellets or sabot! I never thought about practicing this before the season. Any helpful experiences out there?

There is a mindset I get in when I'm up the tree. Every grab on every item is deliberate and focused. Never grab multiple items when I have time to go slow. A dropped glove can lead to a miserable hunt. A dropped SOMETHING_ELSE can lead to a ruined hunt. Spent too much time and $$$ to get there, don't screw it up by making a dumb mistake.

On a foot or platform. Other than that no different than any other treestand. Deliberate and careful so as not to drop anything.

If you’re leaning & wedge butt of ML where instep meets the tree then load as normal. I know this is old hat to all the saddle OG’s but your bridge makes a great rest!! So far it’s been only archery gear, but can definitely see advantages of bridge in front rather than trying to keep it away from the draw cycle.....

I think we have all been there
