Rifle Shooting from saddle

I use the tree, works great on longer shots. I havent had any shots where I didnt use the tree, so cant comment on those. I just rest my hand against the tree and hold the gun.

i put my screw in hanger at the level i most likely think shot will be from and then have a rest and the tree to brace. crosshairs dont move.

I shot a doe Saturday using bridge as a rest. When I first got settled in I quickly practiced the different angles. You'll see, the bridge and the tree give you some great rest options. If a deer is directly behind you, you may need to get creative. Could even stand up and turn around if you're using predator. Like mentioned, check out bobby's video on youtube

Tree, using the hook you hang gear off of, and bridge are your main stabilization options depending on the direction you are shooting. If you have a platform, you could also just stand up and shoot off hand.

Shot a bear off hand 2 weekends ago out of my trophyline. Didnt brace on anything. Just like walking through the woods and seeing a deer. lots of space for swing, and no problem getting things lined up.

For shots away from the tree, you can use some paracord tied over your head angled to the barrel for some help with stabilizing. Kinda like a tether for your gun.

I used the bridge for my shot, due to direction and angle but the bow hanger also provides a decent support from about 9:00 to 12:00 positions. I have the large Hawk hook.

Bridge also, with knees against tree. Tree/bridge if they come in as planned.

If the shot is to my off side I place my arm that will be holding the forearm of the rifle through the bridge and brace off the tree. On my dominant side I can usually lean out from the bridge to make those shots. I am going hunting this afternoon and will be trying the going bridgeless method that I have been experiementing with. If successful, it will eliminate the tether being in the way as well. This will be my first time trying it off the ground.

For shots facing the tree, I use the tree or my bridge/tether for support. For close shots behind, bearing into the lean creates a pretty steady hold. For longer shots behind me, I use a daisy chained length of paracord that I attatch overhead. I hang the thumb of my forearm support hand into the appropriate loop. It's pretty steady. If I can get a rest, I'm using it. I try not to take unsupported shots at live game.
