Looking to get some rain gear for the upcoming winter. I know John Eberhardt recommends, as well as many of you, Rivers west gear. I was thinking of getting the weatherbeater suit pack which comes in snow pattern, both legs and jacket for $100. Maybe kill 2 birds with one stone? Only downside I see to this is it is rated for 40-60 degree weather. So my question to all of you is if I layer under my scent lok suit, then this over top, do you think I would be warm enough?

I own several Rivers West's Weatherbeater suits and they are strictly a nylon exterior shell with a waterproof membrane and a soft tricot (polyester) liner. There is no warmth factor to it whatsoever and it would be way too noisy used as an exterior over anything for deer hunting or coyote hunting with a bow. This suit was designed for general hunting like squirrels, pheasants, ducks and geese, maybe turkeys with a shotgun, and works awesome for fishing or general outdoor and camping activities. The entire suit (pants and jacket) stuffs into one of the jacket pockets and zips up with a carry strap and is great for having on a fishing boat in case it rains. This is the only piece of clothing Rivers West makes that can't be used as an exterior for bowhunting.

Ok thank you, John. That is a big help. I will have to take look at the rest of their line and find something that fits well and provides some quietness and warmth.
