Rookie Question

Yeah man I'm looking for advice as well. Any tips that some one can offer in always willing to listen

On that pic. I hunt NE of the clear cut powerline run. I once I get into the saddle I will run n gun the rest near the bottle neck.

What do you think about the big woods east of the road ? Pretty good chuck of land 2-3 hundred acres

Also I let about 3 bucks walk last year waiting on a big boy I had on camera. He never showed up in the day light

Sorry, for the delayed response. Tony, I would intentionally walk every piece that I was wanting to hunt in conjunction with cyber scouting (I will be doing this, this weekend) until I felt like I had the "lay of the land". I also would not hunt mornings this time of the year without knowing what I was walking in to. You have an entire season to hunt why would you not want to know what is going on? The intel you get now may pay off during the rut or towards the end of the season. However, if you don't get the info you need, you will never know and may be completely "out of the game" all year. Just my opinion.

Droptine - To be honest I only glanced at your map and didn't read the other posts. However, based on what I saw it looks like your property has some really good funnels. Not sure when the rut is but I would hold off on hunting those funnels till the rut. It also look like you had some field corners as well which can be really good during the rut. Bucks like to visually check fields from inside the woods while scent checking the doe trails entering the field. Regardless, i would look for hard to get to places and only hunt them when everything was right.
