New member, but old saddle hunter. Very glad I found this site, lots of great info here. I just got some Oplux and TRC from DanO today, tested it for a few hours in the yard and love it, way better than my years of using my trophyline strap. However, ordered about 2 feet too long. Cut it and realized, I can’t get it to burn even with the torch. Can’t find my heat shrink, any other ideas to prevent fraying? What do you guys use for solid, protected rope ends? Thanks for your help.

Whipping twine, liquid whipping, electrical tape, liquid electrical tape.

I temped mine with gorilla tape but definitely not optimal. The liquid is a great idea, duh, why didn’t I think of that. My buddy may have some plastidip, bet that be the stuff. Thank you sir!

I heat shrink then plasti-dip them two or three times...works the nutz!

If anyone needs a couple extra shrink tube caps, let me know and I can include them in your order. I will probably make them available to purchase separately as I've had quite a few requests lately. Two sizes, one for under 8mm and one for 8mm and over.

Funny I just cut up my oplux and trc yesterday! What I did was heat shrink the ends then fill the heat shrink ends with superglue. We will see how long it lasts but it seems good.

If you get the length right when you order Oplux from DanO he does an xcellent job sealing the ends...I didnt have to do anything to the ends he sealed!

Whip the end with serving string or un-waxed dental floss
