Consider one of the easier-releasing hitches (i like a distel, test it thoroughly to make sure it holds well with your ropes and always have a stopper knot). Also consider a tender on lineman belt.*prussic

I use mini kongs from eastern woods outdoors, but there are lots of other options. The idea is a ring or pulley attached to your carabiner with the tag end of your rope threaded through it. When you pull the tag end of the rope uoward/out - the tender is pulled up to push the bottom of your friction hitch, and it slides up the rope. This gives you 1-handed adhustment. What is a tender? Sorry, newbie trying to make saddle life easier. I too can not get my hands on ropeman 1. I can get ropeman 2 all day but can not find a reason why they are not being used.
