Rope mod extension for large trees

Curious if anyone has a good strategy for rope mod extensions, primarily for the first stick when tree diameter is very large. I suppose I could just carry one super long rope mod in case I need it but has anyone come up with another plan for this?

If I think I'll need it (from scouting pre-season) then I will carry a "dogbone" - essentially a 2-6' piece of rope with an eye at each end that I can attach to the button and to my existing rope mod eye to add some length. It requires me being able to take my exisitng rope mod off of the stick button of course.

In my experience, when a tree is that big it’s a pain in the butt to climb. I made an extra long rope for this purpose and quickly realized it’s just not worth the trouble- pick another tree … kinda one of the primary reasons for saddle hunting- mobility

I agree but it is easier said than done in some places.
