Rope Mod for Helium Sticks?

I went buckle-less with my helium sticks for the first time last night, It worked great. I plan on keeping one buckle for the top step but that will be it. Now I just need to order aiders for the sticks so i can get down to 3 instead of 4 sticks and I need to do something else beside the lock together buttons that come with the sticks. they are not easy to get apart.
Look up the other thread or 2 on the Heliums. You will see what we had to do to make them pull apart easier. I was about to toss them until I fixed mine. I really like them now but unfortunately, we have to do Hawks work for them to get them right.

Ordered some 1/4" dyneema to do rope mods on my full size Heliums but will try removing the buckles first. Pretty sure I can find some other use for 10000# rope.

Yup just got my longs from walmart for $100 shipped and ditching the buckles will be a weight saver.

Only downside to using the stock straps without buckles is that you limit the size of the tree you can climb. I went with 10ft daisy chains so I can actually get into a tree that I can hide behind the trunk. Remember they are bigger at the bottom.

This exactly

I'm not sure that I need a 10ft long rope, that gets you into a tree 3 foot in diameter. I hope I don't need a tree that big to hide behind. I will stick with the stock straps for now and see if i run into an issue. On a side note I cut the inner lip out of the female suction cup stick retention system on my helium sticks. The go together and come apart nicely now. I'll be adding some felt pads or camo tape where the sticks may touch during tranport and they should be good to go. I just need a slanted Scout platform for the top stick now. Hopefully EWO will get some in.
