Anyone swap out the cam buckle for an amsteel rope mod for their platforms?
I have a usa pro stick and stand rope from amsteel guy (ewo) and am thinking about using it.
Thanks for the help

Trophyline edp. This is my first foray into saddle hunting. I'm not adverse to the cam strap. I just have 2 amsteel rope mods .

I made my own USAs and only ever tried them on my Heliums which I never use.
They worked OK on those I guess.

I use a regular ole Amsteel rope on my EDP. 1/4" cheap stuff with a loop spliced into one end. I just toss it around the tree and then wrap it around the button twice, going behind the rope.

Works fine for me.

I have the TL EDP platform as well and have been using the stock cam buckle strap thru the early learning curve. The OCB strap/buckle from Treehopper came to my attention, but then learned of the Vital Ground PSH. My kids asked about a birthday gift suggestion and I will hopefully have a PSH to test out very soon. Over the off season I plan to purchase an OCB and strap setup to test out an ROS, but am liking the EDP.....all but the cam strap before and after the hunt. One of the primary lessons of saddle hunting thus far is that there are a dozen ways to 'skin a cat' and what works for you is not the end-all.....in most cases.

I have it based the us mode. It works extremely well. I did break the plastic for the tender once by accident stepping on it.

I use amsteel suspension cables, and amsteel daisy chains to attach my hang on to a tree. Much quieter for setup and packing, and shaved 1.2lbs off the weight.

Trucker hitching the daisy chains takes about 15-20 seconds longer than using cam buckles.

Gonna try using that. I love anything that looks like an original idea(securing it,not the actual spliced eye amsteel rope).
