Rope mode climbing sticks kick out on a large tree.

I was trying to get up in a large oak tree I think. The tree was bigger than what I normally climb but I couldn't get my sticks to stop kicking out.. I could only get my arms maybe half way around it. I had to toss the rope around and grab it. I gave up and moved to a smaller tree.

Do you guys see this with the bigger trees? I'm running the API sticks..
