I was thinking of rope mod on the helium’s full size. I don’t want to use cam cleats or Amsteel . Any recommendations from someone whose done it?

Mine wasn’t heliums.
But I did rope mod on my sticks last year and it worked ok but I tried daisy chained amsteel and liked it a lot more.
The rope mod was fine and it worked fine but it was a little louder passing the rope through the loop, if the tree had bark,
And a cold day made the rope stiff.

I did rope mods on my full length helium’s with 1/4” Amsteel and beast buttons. Did locked Brummell eyes with 10” bury on one end and just whipped the other end with serving string to prevent unraveling. I also did 7/64” Amsteel daisy chains as a second set of ropes which I actually ended up using more last year than the 1/4” Amsteel ropes.

I used 8mm climbing style rope on my full length helium’s works great for me. Just found it on YouTube channel.

Bluegrassbowhunter, were you using the stock Versa-button-style posts that now come on the current Heliums? I'd like to do this mod and want to get the rope dimension just right. REI has 8mm accessory cord by the foot for $.60/ft or in a 30 ft. bundle for $17.70.
Yea I’m just using the stock versa button that come on them. And yea I went to backcountry.com and got there 8mm accessory cord. I just liked that they had OD green solid color rope. And I just bought it by the foot and got 20 foot. And did two sticks with 8 foot of rope. And my third stick I left just the normal strap for the top stick.
