I've picked up 2 ropeman 2's as the ropeman 1's are hard to find.

They seem to be very similar but my blackdiamond seems to fit rather snug in the holes of the ropeman 2.

I seem to be getting more comfortable in the stand just using a prusik knot over the mechanical ropeman, HOWEVER, for redundancy I'd like to run both, on my tether.

Who else uses the ropeman 2's? And if they could provide pictures for context, that would be awesome.

I have them and my BD's are snug too. I sort of like it that way, makes me feel more confident that it's really pushing that rope into the teeth. I'll try and post a pic when I get home.

It just seems that the RM1’s are the majority and the RM2’s are of the extreme minority. Just an observation. I still make it work from the platform

The trouble with Ropeman 2's is that the teeth are much sharper and snaggier or hookier and therefore will put much more wear and tear on your rope. And if memory serves me correctly, they are rated for a smaller rope diameter which explains the snugness. IMO it's worth the trouble to search for Ropeman 1's. I got two from REI a while back. Not sure if they have them now. At the time, they were out of orange ones so I got blue.

I dont prefer either one over the other but I do prefer them over the kong duck.

That's a BD biner in there I forget which one but it's one of the common ones with the blue srew gate

Also, I've seen almost no wear at all from the ropeman2 on my ropes. A lot of people say itll tear the rope apart. I have not seen that at all.
