Ropeman

There are 2 options. A 10-13mm and a one size. Any negatives to the one size? Seems like the better option but based on the color of the pictures looks like people are using the 10-13mm.

I have both the 1 and 2. You want the 1. The design of the 2 chews up rope.

Thanks for the input but by 1 you mean the 10-13mm version?

Yep. Ropeman 1 is what I use as well. Funny thing though. The Ropeman 1 has big teeth that won’t fuzz out your rope. But with a big fall, can damage the sheath.

The Ropeman 2 has little cheese grater teeth that snagged up my rope immediately. But I guess it won’t cut it. I was able to return mine.

Thanks again. I understand ropeman 1 is the one I want but even under that there is a drop-down with an option for a one size version and a version for 10- 13mm rope. I can't find anywhere that explains the difference between the one size and the 10-13mm versions of the ropeman 1. Is there even a difference? I would think the one size would be more versatile but are there negatives that anyone knows about vs the one made for 10-13mm rope?

I should add...I never tried a Ropeman 2 on thin stiff rope like HTP 9mm. I would like to try it sometime

But on 11mm Yale Bandit, the teeth immediately snagged the rope fibers.

10-13mm is the Ropeman 1. Sounds like the listing is wrong/incomplete

Where are you seeing that?
If you click the link red sent early in this thread it has a drop-down labeled select. Under that there are 2 options. 10-13mm or one size.

The colors are different and the holes look different shapes.

They are the same thing. If you click one size it will just give you the orange one. The different colors must just be listed differently.

That hole being on an angled surface made me think they were different. Thanks makes sense now. Still odd how it's labeled.

This past Wednesday, I purchased two Ropeman 1’s from tree stuff and paid $77.02. Paid IN state tax. Picked up in person, as I live just north of Indianapolis. They only have the blue colored in stock at this time

Does the carabiner squeak on the ropeman? Metal on metal typically squeaks.

I wrap my beaners in electrical tape so there is less noise if metal in metal contact is gonna be a issue.
