ROS options, Cranford?

Does anyone know if Cranford ever came out with a ROS option? Currently the only commercially available option I can find on the interwebs is from Bullman outdoors. Also interested to hear of people who use Bullman or any other ROS options what your opinion of them is. I am new to this and would prefer to not do a DIY, for my own safety, as I am not familiar with all of the terms and capabilities associated with equipment yet. One of my concerns is I wear a size 12 boot, are the steps long enough and how comfortable is it on long sits if you alternate leaning and sitting in a saddle?

Welcome to the site!

these should be back in stock soon.... I don't love the cranfords in general. People are loving these and they are made here by @DanO
check out this thread for all the Dev that went into them. I think he's making some slight radius changes right now and they should be back available shortly:

Yup. Try some squirrel steps. There also was another guy that was making a polymer step. I think it’s toward the end of the “calling all ROS “ thread posted above.

SquirrelSteps should be available for order again starting Monday, January 21st. Sent 20 out to some testers and anticipate that the strap issue is completely resolved. Yes, I'm affiliated with Eastern Woods Outdoors (DoubleSteps/SquirrelSteps).

I use/used the bullman ros, and I had the same issues as others on the site with side pressure and slippage. The best way I found was to set the steps, step up and apply my weight to each individual step, then back down for one more ratchet. Depending on the tree, the slippage would vary from slight to ‘this isn’t working’. I ended up buying a platform and couldn’t be happier. The squirrel steps look to be pretty awesome though..may have to try some..

I use ameristeps they are bulky but pretty awesom as far as stability and ease of setup. I’m looking forward to giving the squirrel steps a shot at saddlepalooza.

I have also been waiting for Crawford to release their ring of steps. Cranford makes quality gear and uses steel. I believe @John Eberhart was the first to mention them working on a ring of steps and that was about a year and a half ago.

Wild Edge Steps are also available, though perhaps on back order.

Cranford rope steps can be used, though not very popular. Haven't tried them myself.

Screw in steps are available if legal where you hunt.

Thank you everyone for your replies/suggestions. The Squirrel steps look awesome and I like that they were made with input from the people who use them. I think I am going to try them. The steps look shiny though, anybody dip, spray or wrap them for silence and to knock the sheen off?

I wrap them in vet wrap tape.
