Sad Day :(

I've killed way too many deer from a Summit to let it go for a newer, lighter, better model.
Sounds like I need to go back and try a Summit out... at least once. I have to admit that the freedom and childlike enjoyment I get from just hanging around in my saddle will make it hard for me to revert back but it is good to revisit old friends.

The ones with Roger Raglin right? Before he broke off on his own? Wasn’t there another guy before Roger too?
You are going to make me pull out the VCR and verify. I mainly remember the guy and his wife assistant. My neighbor who was 50 at the time had his Tree Lounge out in a tree on our property line testing it out before season and of course I was concerned he was going to fall out of it. He gave me his demo of how it was impossible to fall out and then went and retrieved the official Tree Lounge VHS tape for me to watch. He said ," pay close attention because there is a chance a couple things may fall out but it's not him but may have something to do with her", as he gave me a raised eyebrow. Oh well, I guess all that was wasted if you have never seen the video.... but I did buy two of them, the stands that is.

Mine has been over in the barn for 10 or 12 years...

It was my first portable stand. My dad had some other brand stands but they were off limits due to safety concerns. He used them though.

Other than herniating disks carrying them, the Lounges had a good track record so far as I know. At least the square stock design did.

I didn't have to go far ...

We should all get together for a Throwback weekend hunt. Bring out all the old gear and show all the youngsters yesteryears technology.
I do believe a fair majority of the deer I killed out the tree lounge was from curious deer thinking, I got see what in the world is causing all that noise.

I loved the Summit Cobra (I think that's what it was), had the old style aluminum tabs. So easy to adjust in the tree which of course should never be attempted by anyone under any circumstances :D
Yea I liked the old tabs better than the new two-hands to hold open and adjust.. How am I supposed to do that half way up the tree?? Especially on the bottom- have to take off my harness to bend down to get both hands on it. But, it's still sooo comfy. If my saddle was that comfortable, I'd never use a stand again..

I sold my tree lounge around five or six years ago, and I’ve been kicking myself ever since. I had the extra long version with the plywood bowhunting adapter. Think it was just over 30 pounds. Literally carried that thing for almost 20 years throughout my 30s and 40s. I lashed it to an old backpack frame with a hip belt that made it much easier to carry long distances. I remember weighing my hunting gear, and with winter clothes, water, and rifle. I was right at 57 pounds,

I killed a pile of deer out of that stand, and it’s still hands down the most comfortable stand I’ve ever used.

FYI....Well good news, bad news on the sell or not the sell of my stands. The potential buyer had life events that arose putting a damper on his hunting funds (and my future hunting funds) and well to say the least, I still have my 2 tree lounge stands but they are a lot cleaner now.
I am contemplating taking one to a pretty good doe spot about 2 weeks before hunting/camping trip and just leaving it set up for a day hunt. I said, I wouldn't go back to a climber until I absolutely had too but sometimes you just need to spend some time with an old friend.
