Saddle as a safety harness. Who does it?

I do not. However, I have several preset trees with a safety line from the top. With my saddle around my waist, I attach to my bridge and head up. I don't think it would be as safe as a Harness if I fell, But it's a compromise that I am ok with at this point.
When I hunt from a stand, I wear a harness.

I’ve done it a few times in my Latitude Classic 2 and felt safe running the tether under my arm keeping the slack out. That said it wasn’t that comfortable sitting on the saddle so I picked up a Dryad Killdeer harness. Haven’t used it in a stand yet but seems like it will work well

Ive used my classic 2 but much prefer my recon

Once I hit year 2 of saddle hunting, I had no desire to sit in a stand again. The stand I have out are just repurposed into set platforms now. Wish I would have discovered saddles a decade ago

I have a Dryad Killdeer and have used it a few times from treestands. I like it better than the HSS harness.

To the OP - are you asking about using a saddle *without* an underlying rock climbing style harness? I know almost nothing about saddle hunting, but my Killdeer is a rock climbing style safety harness, and the saddle that Dryad sells is separate and I believe NOT rated for stand alone safety.

If your using a lwcg .5 as a hybrid set up what do you do with the tether and bridge if you want to sit?
