Even though it was a minor fall not requiring professional medical attention, I did cut my hand pretty deep on the step attempting to catch myself. That was my reasoning behind my previous comment.

Completed it too. My fall was just the OCB coming undone when I accidentally hit it when testing things out a foot or so off the ground. It was more of a swing into the tree since my tether was tight, and then sliding out of my saddle to get out. Nothing ever at height yet, and hopefully never happens.
 
done but i screwed up...said no falls....that is true of hunting.....i did take a hard fall out of climbing a wet tree to take a picture around 20 years ago (could have died)....no safety gear, just me being a dummie
 
Update based on current responses (n=56):
Average age = 42 (20-65)
Average BMI = 29 (22-40; overweight >25, obese > 30); 30% of respondents = obese, 14% = normal
Average YRS hunting = 26 (1-60)
Average YRS bow hunting = 19 (1-53)
Average YRS saddle hunting = 4.4 (1-20); 66% less than 5 yrs
% experienced an unplanned fall = 16/56 (28.6%)
% injured requiring med attention = 1/56 (1.8%)

answered. Unplanned fall was actually on a climbing stick that kicked out. was wearing a full harness using a lineman belt since I was hunting out of a hang on. No serious injury.

without sounding too terrible here most of what Nutterbuster claimed was accurate? Nearly 1/3 were overweight nearly 1/3 obese,
The majority have less than 5 yrs in the saddle and one step further elevated stats are pretty close for this forum as well (they say that approximately 30% of hunters from elevated platforms will suffer a fall while hunting! It’s scary how much our members mirror stats
 
BMI is pretty much a worthless metric. It doesn’t account for muscle mass so unless we’re doing precise caliper measurements on each respondent it doesn’t really mean anything. I was 165lbs at my last physical and the nurse labeled me as “Morbidly Obese” because my BMI was 26. I demanded a caliper test and they found that I was 11% body fat. Which is pretty good for a 45yr old guy.

And I expect these stats to be of the very active forum members....sample is very small as is the time frame...and still represents what @Nutterbuster posted....
