*What are some of the best platform options or ideas for public land hunting?

*What size and features of trees help make the best setups?

*What climbing processes seem to work best for getting in and out quickly and quietly?

*How long should you're tree tether be to provide the best mobility around the tree?

*What are the essential and non-essential tools that provide easier climbing and better experiences for novice saddle users.

Provide a basic (bare minimum) list of items one will need to start saddle hunting.

Example: 30ft of 11mm rope, 5 ft of 7mm rope for prussic knots, saddle of choice, 12 screw in steps, etc.

Keep all of the Ropeman1 and acronyms that I still don't know out of it.

All the acronyms and gadgets alone will keep people from ever trying it.

I'm new here, my main question is what is a quick and easy set up for the whole process?

I would like someone to say buy this saddle, buy this platform, buy this set of sticks/SRT gear and you will be set up and can go from there

Where can episode one be found?

This is a good question.

I think it would also be good to discuss how long it takes to get up a tree (say 20-25 feet) and get set up. It currently taking me about an hour from the base of the tree till ready to hunt. Then about 30 mins to get down. This is important if your want to be set up before daylight or get out of the tree before it's it's pitch dark.

Mudminnow, if you deer hunted before, you probably have all the equipment you need to ascend and descend a tree. the saddle and tether, linemans belt are really the only specialized pieces you'll need. At the moment you only have two commercial choices that I know of, the New Tribe kestrel or the Guidos Web. Both are available as a system with everything you'll need to hang comfortably and safely. Guidos Web won't be available after December as the owner Butch is retiring. Feel free to ask any question you may have, there are many good people on this site that are willing to help.
