Saddle saturation?

Most hunters I know aren’t in what I would consider to be “saddle shape” and never will be. As we as a society get heftier and more unhealthy any form of athletic hunting will become a smaller niche market making saturation occur at a faster rate. This is not accounting for the two variables of hunter beyond health and fitness; those who have one thing and know and use it well and those who change weapons and ambush options with each new release.

The latter of the two are who keep manufactures in business. They’d go broke if it were only folks like me who wear the threads off of everything.

Probably have to keep production stateside. Shipping all that lead from overseas would really cut into the profit margins...

It doubles as ship ballast, so there's a discount. As well, those ONE sticks are sooo light, they have to weigh them down so they don't float off into space and disappear causing yet another stock shortage.

I was thinking about a line of lead sticks once the saddle sales take off. One piece cast. No moving parts to squeak. No more than 12 pounds each. 4 will get you 20 feet easy. Maybe a cast lead platform too. The whole system, saddle, sticks and platform would be maybe 80 pounds, give or take.

The tendency to stay on the ground with all that weight Might actually help some people kill deer and not get hurt.

I agree.

My question, is why anyone is upset that they aren’t protected by IP law when someone with a crappy patent sues them? This statement works in both directions, for both sides of this proverbial coin. The only truth is that if you didn’t come up with something interesting and unique, you won’t be offered much protection. Whether you’re the patent defender or attacker.
It’s the time energy and money to hire lawyers and fight out the crappy patent suit that people are mad about. If company x makes a product and they copied things from this site or an older company who was little known or even closed now. And they file for a patent on elements of that product and it’s granted… they then attack smaller or newer guys that come up and do something similar. The anger is that the original product shouldn’t have received patent protection to begin with. That’s not what the IP laws were designed for. They sue, you fight. If you win, they pay you for damages and legal fees and they lose their patent. It could take years to hash that out and until then you still have to foot those legal fees and retainer fees. That’s why I say it’s designed for the wealthier and not just to protect IP or innovations. I’m not disagreeing with the merits of your point of view, I’m not saying that protection is necessary when something is truly new and original… I’m simply saying others have abused the system and when you get away with that and turn around to come after smaller guys, you’re not protecting original IP, you’re simply stifling competition. There lies the aggravation.

And doubles as a kayak anchor and dive belt, for guys that paddle or swim to their spots

It is not approved to wear in should you be using water transportation. It poses an ever so slight drowning risk. Put it on at the base of the tree under those conditions. Also, people should avoid the temptation to lick the saddle and wash their hands after using it before eating and drinking.

Well, California definitely. If you were born in California but now live elsewhere or you lived in California for more than a month you might be at greater risk. Do not use Plumbum Outdoors saddle if you are allergic to Plumbum Outdoors saddle or a of its ingredients. Ask your doctor or tree care professional if Plumbum is right for you.
