This will be my first year saddle hunting and I have slowly pieced together my setup. I have climbing method, saddle, ropes, platform, and making a DIY holder for my stuff I the tree. The last thing I need is a pack. Is the trophyline CAYS pack worth the money or should I buy a cheaper pack and make mods? What pack do you all suggest. I hunt in Kentucky so early season I plan on packing very little but come late October I will need to pack extra clothes. I really only want to buy 1 pack I can use all season long.

I’m in the same boat. I saw last years Sitka tool box for 139 but this years looks cooler.

It would help if you list what you are climbing with. a pack that is good for sticks wont be so good if you are carrying steps or bolts.,

I bought the trophyline pack, suppose to have it tomorrow. Will find out soon if it is worth it. Looks great in the videos.

I use a 5.11 sandstone daypack early season. And later in the season or when it rains I use a packrabbit frame with a 60L camo drybag strapped to it. Not standard, but hell, we are saddlehunting, nothing is really standard.

Just beware, the bigger pack you bring, the more crap you haul with you.

I got the Trophyline pack today and loaded it up with all of my stuff. Held it all with room to spare for my knee pads and saddle to fit inside. I like the pocket layout of it. The main inside compartment is bucket style with pockets on all sides. Love that. Put my bino's and calls in the padded pocket. Smalls in the outer orginization pocket. Scents, handwarmers, etc in the side pockets. The only thing left is to strap on the platform and sticks which it has places for. It didnt take long to adjust the fit. If this pack proves to be durable enough for several seasons of use, then it will be worth the money. Time will tell if the material and zippers hold up to hard use. It kinda hurt my feelings cleaning out my 15 plus year old Kelty Buck 2000 mossyoak backpack. Man I love that thing, it's been on many hunts and lots of great memories. It just does not have outer straps for sticks/platforms or I would keep using it. It's still in great shape so it want be hard to find another use for it. So far I'm digging the trophyline, cant wait to take it onto some hunts.

What part of KY are you hunting?

I’m pretty much in the same boat as you. First year saddle hunter from KY trying to piece it all together
