Alright fellas, I’m in the process of developing some saddle specific clothing. Something You can put on and take off while staying connected at hunting height. Something lightweight but warm to pack in on those late November/December sits. I’ve got the first prototype done, and I’m really pleased. I’ve already noted some design changes, and some additional features I’d like to add. But I’m curious, if you were designing some clothes to be worn while in your saddle, what are some features you’d like to have?

Not hard feeling.....

Don't try and reinvent the wheel....there's always someone who figured it out before u...

Hahahaha

Are u able to post up some pics of what u have made?

I live in warm weather and don't have any problems but I like seeing what other peeps build/make. Necessity is the mother of all invention

What is that second one??
Nudown inflatable vest. Looks interesting. I just don't want to pay $180 for it though. Also, the inflatable portion is only in the front. Guess someone did the math and that's the critical part. My mind tells me it would be better all around.

Ive never had a problem putting on my bottom layers and walking in. Last year I used a Mission and it was easy to put on a top layer with all that room after up in the tree. This year Im one sticking on a small platform so Im very interested in easy to put on top layer in the tree. Doesnt help just saying

On cold days, I’ve always put my bottoms on at the bottom of the tree, then my saddle, and then I’ve climbed. But even that causes me to sweat by the time I hit hunting height.

As for my jacket, I use a puffer that packs down tight, and try to tuck it into my saddle. That method eliminates your belly pockets, and on really cold days, I often wish I had a SWB heater like Tethrd offers.

If this works as well as I hope it does, I plan to eliminate all of those issues, and provide more pockets. Plus eliminate weight and create more space in my pack.

For those of you that are curious, this is the very first prototype. It is made out of cheap material for me to practice in. To see how things fit. Where I have too much/not enough material. This is the rough draft… the final product will look much better.
